The Henry Ford Museum has announced an exciting new rock-n’-roll exhibit fit for a diva.

 

Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power (May 17 – August 17) will highlight the contributions of the music industry’s most influential and controversial female artists of the last half-century. The exhibition promises the inclusion of “music sheets, handwritten notes, session cards, concert posters, photographs and even their instruments.”

 

Presented by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, this summer attraction will feature memorabilia of artists such as: Madonna, Joan Jett, Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, and dozens of others.

 

The 250-piece Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power exhibit has confirmed the following pieces:

 

  • Joan Jett’s black leather jacket
  • Chrissie Hynde’s sassy blue Fender
  • Madonna’s Blond Ambition bustier
  • Lady Gaga’s notorious meat dress
  • The Supremes “Black Swirls” Dress
  • Carol King’s “You’ve Got a Friend” sheet music
  • Janis Joplin’s handwritten lyrics “Move Over”
  • Martin Acoustic “Wanda Jackson” Guitar with rhinestones

 

Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power is free to museum members and children under 4-years-old, $12.50 for non-member youths (5-12), $15 for non-member seniors (62+), and $17 for non-member adults (13-61). Purchase tickets here
