Next month, Ann Arbor-based producer and drummer Shigeto graces us with a brand new EP. Intermission is slated to drop October 30 via Ghostly, and this week the artist shared another exciting preview of the record. “Do My Thing” is the second advance single from Intermission, following the leadoff track “Pulse,” which was released last month.

Shigeto deftly blends genres into luscious new audio stylings. “Pulse” is a downtempo journey through an Afro-Caribbean soundscape accented with steel drums and remote snares, whereas “Do My Thing” mixes elements of ambient, hip-hop, and techno with classical harp chords that tickle your ear.

While Shigeto has been hard at work touring around the world, this is his first studio release since 2013’s masterful No Better Time Than Now. If these first two sneak peeks from Intermission are a sign of things to come, Shigeto’s future is brighter than ever. Devil’s Night can’t come soon enough.
