Robert Hood and Floorplan split EP due out in March

Detroit icon Robert Hood has made multiple contributions to electronic music over his career — from his early work as one of the founding members of Underground Resistance with “Mad” Mike Banks and Jeff Mills to his critical role in the development of minimal techno — under many different names (including Monobox, H&M, The Vision, Inner Sanctum, and The Mathematic Assassins) that it can be hard to keep up with the musician’s prodigious discography.

Things are about to get a little more manageable for collectors, however, as Hood has announced a forthcoming EP that will be split between one track to his own name (“Shaker”) and another under his Floorplan moniker (“Ritual”). The release comes on the heels of M-Print: 20 Years of M-Plant Music, a best-of compilation of tracks from Hood’s label, which came out back in December. Hood’s Shaker/Ritual EP will be distributed via EPM Music on March 30.
