Jimmy Edgar & Machinedrum reunite as JETS, release new EP

The last time Detroit-native electronic artist Jimmy Edgar and Berlin-based producer Machinedrum teamed up as JETS was in 2012, and now they’re back for round two. Their four-track EP The Chants is due out May 11 on the duo’s own Ultramajic label.

 

The pair explain the process behind the new album in press materials: “Our first record was more of us finding out space and creating a new environment of sound to work with. This release was much more about exploring the building of our creation.”

 

Between the crisp production on title track “The Chants” and the prospect of pairing the soulful stylings of Jamie Lidell with JETS’ steady rhythmic pulse on “U-N-I,” this is an album that is definitely packed with promise.
