Howling Diablos - Return of the Funk Hand

Howling Diablos, Detroit’s legendary funk/blues/rock/gospel/soul group, have announced the release of their newest project, Return of the Funk Hand. The new release was written and produced by frontman Tino Gross and features a wide variety of well-known Detroit artists from contrasting genres.

Recorded at Funky D Studios, the project includes appearances by: MC5’s Wayne Kramer, the original Vandellas, Mary Cobra of Detroit Cobras, Mike E. Clark, longtime producer for Insane Clown Posse and Vinnie Dombroski of Sponge. Diablos fans can expect to hear three Wayne Kramer-infused songs on the new 12-track album. The recordings also inspired the creation of a special-edition, blue-tinted 45RPM vinyl record.

Return of the Funk Hand will celebrate its culmination with a release party at PJ’s Lager House in Detroit’s Corktown, Friday, November 29, at 8 p.m. The event will coincide with Funky D Records’ annual Holiday Bash, and feature performances by Howling Diablos, The Royal Blackbirds, Horse Cave Trio and MC Linda Lexy.

Admission – $8
