Detroiters living elsewhere: prepare to rush home for the holidays. The second annual GRiZMAS, Detroit’s new favorite Christmas party, will return to The Masonic Temple on December 19.
What started as a one-off mega show seems to be the new holiday tradition in Detroit. Last year, Michigan’s very own GRiZ teamed up with Odesza, funk royalty Will Sessions, and cosmic trap duo Gosh Pith to throw one of the biggest holiday shows Detroit has ever seen.
The inaugural, sold-out event was such a hit, that GRiZ also threw “GRiZMAS in July” – a secret show this summer. “GRiZMAS in July” saw thousands of ravenous fans flock to Bookies rooftop (downtown Detroit) for a surprise DJ set. Bookie’s simply could not contain the crowd, and what resulted was a wild impromptu block party surrounding the venue and lining Cass Ave.
Furthermore, GRiZ has continued his ascent to the top of dance music stardom, Odesza has become one of the hottest names in electronic music and Will Sessions and Gosh Pith have both continued to act as representatives of Detroit’s deep musical talents.
This December, GRiZ will host FKJ, Big Wild, and Will Sessions at The Masonic for GRiZMAS II. Make sure to get your tickets early… they will make a great early GRiZMAS gift.
