The experimental noise underground is known for acts that are as prolific as they are provocative, with artists producing several limited-release runs of work yearly on formats as far afield as CD-Rs or cassette tapes. In our digital era, these media may seem antiquated, but in a genre known for its attention to tactile sensations, their physical qualities are prized. If a noise artist manages to cross over to a wider audience, those hard-to-find recordings become all-the-more valuable to hardcore fans.

Such was the case for Detroit-area band Wolf Eyes, who enjoyed relative popularity for an act whose abrasive sound was embraced by indie rockers, punks, and noise-niks alike. Their back catalog contained multiple recordings that never managed to see wide release despite their crossover appeal… until now. The group just launched a Bandcamp page and have promised to release five recordings each month, “leaking out radition style,” with an initial offering that comprises two live recordings, an early era release, and the demos of their most recent album, No Answer: Lower Floors. Check out all these and stay tuned for more at Wolf Eyes’ official Bandcamp page.
