In the wake of recently-postponed road construction in Ferndale, DIY Street Fair has announced its un-cancellation for 2014, pending final approval from the city.
Since 2008, the DIY Street Fair has been comprised of art vendors, area-food & beverage favorites and local music acts in Ferndale. This year’s three-day event is scheduled to be reinstated September 12, 13 and 14 for its seventh-annual installment.
From the event’s official statement:
“We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for this event. We would like to thank the thousands who wrote, called and spoke up in support of continuing the event, regardless of it’s size or location. We are happy to announce that we will be able to continue on with this Ferndale tradition in its regular location in Fabulous Ferndale– where the dream began.”
The DIY Street Fair organizers took to Facebook Sunday to announce their (pending) good news, but have not yet released artist/vender/music info. Past acts have included Electric Six, Flint Eastwood, Jamaican Queens, DEATH, Oscillating Fan Club, Bars of Gold, Blaire Alise & The Bombshells, Thunderbirds Are Now!, Tunde Olaniran, and countless others.
