Detroit roots-rocker Bob Seger has announced a national tour with the Silver Bullet Band in support of his forthcoming album Ride Out, due out October 2014.

The run will begin on November 19 at Saginaw’s Dow Event Center and includes a show in Grand Rapids at Van Andel Arena on December 9. Though no Metro Detroit dates have been disclosed yet, Seger’s hometown shows are typically announced after the initial tour schedule is released.

The itinerary going out today is just the opening leg of Seger’s most extensive tour in eight years. The J. Geils Band is the opening act for some dates, including the Grand Rapids one. In 2006-’07, Bob Seger played a five-month tour that included several shows at The Palace of Auburn Hills and that closed with a two-night finale at Cobo Arena.

Tickets for the Saginaw and Grand Rapids shows go on sale at 10:00 AM October 4 through Ticketmaster. There are also two pre-sale options: Members of the Bullet Club are able to purchase seats at 10:00 PM October 1 (register for membership here) and Citi credit card holders can get tickets beginning at 4:00 PM October 1.
