During Saturday’s Mo Pop music festival, hosted at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights, one of the day’s most anticipated acts took part in a spontaneous, and extraordinary stunt.

In the midst of California alternative-rock group Young the Giant’s 8:15PM – 9:15PM set, a fan was challenged to perform an act of casual athleticism in exchange for a “high-five” after the performance. The stunt: toss a frisbee from the top of the Freedom Hill Amphitheatre all the way to Sameer Gadhia, the group’s lead singer, located at the stage’s front-and-center.

Challenge accepted.

Mo Pop’s July 12 day-long celebration included performances by: Young the Giant, City and Colour, The Neighborhood, Trampled by Turtles, Cold War Kids, Lord Huron, Tokyo Police Club, Bad Suns, Bear Hands and Detroit’s own rock royalty – Flint Eastwood.
