This weekend, Tec-Troit takes over Detroit with three full days of electronic music. The festival is the largest free electronic music festival in the city since the loss of Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Tec-Troit features some of the best hometown talent, from local favorites to internationally respected artists.
This year’s Tec-Troit boasts three stages: two outdoor and one “Underground” in the basement of Coaches Corner. The music starts at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday — and it doesn’t stop until 2:00 a.m. or later. With over 80 artists scheduled to perform, we recommend getting there early.
Friday night features Craig Huckaby, ADMN, Annie Hall, Ghita Sisters, and more, with closing sets by The Sonic Natives, GND, House Gallery, and Peter Croce b2b Dretraxx. Saturday’s theme is “Revenge of the Vinyl” and exclusively features live mixing on wax. Some artists include Monty Luke, D. Wynn, DJ T. Linder b2b DJ Seoul, and DJ Psycho. Closing out Sunday are Terrence Dixon, Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale, Eddie Fowlkes, Superdre, and more.
This year’s event is supported by R.A.W.S. (Ravers Against World Starvation), and they ask for canned, non-perishable food donations. Attendees who show their support in this way will receive two free glow bracelets. Everyone who goes to the festival, however, is on the VIP list at Tec-Troit.
