Detroit producer and MC iLLingsworth has been a major player in the city’s hip-hop community for years, not only as a solo artist, but in collaboration with the likes of Open Mike Eagle and Clear Soul Forces. He’s a prolific artist but only just released his debut album Worth the Wait in November via HouseShoes’ Street Corner Music label.
“Everhard,” a standout track from the LP, bursts with bright left-field hip-hop instrumentation and now has a fitting visual accompaniment. The B. Damon-directed, Aux Cinema-produced video accentuates the track’s playful piano line, with pops of color shot stop-motion style while iLLingsworth takes a whimsical stroll around his neighborhood.
