Gosh Pith — “Window”

Gosh Pith — “Window”

The new track from Detroit “cosmic-trap” duo Gosh Pith finds them expanding into and experimenting with more genres. “Window” borrows guitar lines from your favorite indie rock bands of the 2000s and mixes them with the spastic, skittish percussion we’ve come to expect from Gosh Pith. These elements blend nicely with the vocal stylings of Josh Smith, who seems to be drawing inspiration from the recent rebirth of R&B among young producers and electronic artists.

“Window” is the most straightforward pop song we’ve heard from Gosh Pith so far, and it’s a little more accessible than their past efforts. It’s exciting to hear them write a simple groove while offering glimpses into their more avant-garde tendencies, especially on the song’s drum tracks. The duo’s upcoming EP should prove to be an eclectic mix; look out for its release in the coming months.
