Eminem and Rihanna’s Monster Tour concluded its two-night leg in Detroit with a tribute to the ALSA, by completing the famously popular “Ice Bucket Challenge” Saturday evening.
The ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” has become popular on social media as a means of raising awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The challenge encourages participants to pour ice water on themselves, in addition to making a donation to the ALSA online, and nominating new participants.
The ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” has raised more than $60 million this year in donations, compared to less than $2.5 million during the same period of 2013.
Following the concert stunt, Eminem nominated his on-stage hype man Mr. Porter, Rihanna, and legendary record producer Rick Rubin.
