Black Milk and DeJ Loaf among Detroit artists to play at SXSW

sxsw-2015

The annual South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival (SXSW) began in 1987 and has grown to encompass not only music, but also film and emerging technology. The music festival, however, is now the largest of its kind in the world, with more than 2,200 official performers and bands playing in more than 100 venues. This year’s SXSW promises to be the largest yet, and it will feature six Detroit-area artists, including rappers Black Milk and DeJ Loaf.

The Austin, TX-based festival will be held this year from March 13-22 and today announced its third round of artists. Prior to today’s release, Black Milk was the only Motor City musician slated to play the fest. With this additional list, the following artists have been put on the bill: rising MC DeJ Loaf, indie rock act Pity Sex, singer-songwriter Daniel Wilson, and gospel singers Clareta Haddon and Tasha Page-Lockhart. Set times and venues are yet to be determined.
